Why use Equucel?

Equucel is easy and convenient to use. Available in easy to handle bags or more economical 500 kg bags for use in larger yards.

It’s extremely warm, economical, user friendly, harmless to skin and has excellent green credentials as it’s made from recycled paper that originates from sustainable sources and at the end of its life, is totally biodegradable.

Due to the way the product is used, there is less waste during mucking out process than compared to straw. This means the size of the manure heap in the stable yard builds up more slowly and has to be cleared less often.

Using Equucel

The Equucel pellets are easily distributed across the stable floor by fork, shovel, broom and hand to the required depth.

We recommend that Equucel is laid to a 10cm depth which, for a 3.6m x 3.6m stable, would use approximately 200kg of product. Once laid, the horse or pony will gradually break down the pellets to a soft flaky consistency by their natural movement within the stable.

When changing the bedding, the product will have darkened and taken on a fluffier appearance where an animal has urinated so it’s easy for the person mucking out to see exactly what needs to be removed.

Over time this leads to significantly less bedding waste and lasts 3 to 4 times longer than conventional alternatives…
